About
Juliettes Studio
I am a songwriter, singer, musician, performer and fine artist working across music, performance and visual practice.
My work explores voice as both an artistic medium and a site of identity—how we express, shape and reclaim our stories through sound, body and image. At the centre of my practice is songwriting: a process through which personal and collective narratives are formed, disrupted and reimagined.
Alongside composing and performing original songs, I work across interdisciplinary forms including movement, performance, visual art and creative writing. I am particularly interested in how these practices intersect—how voice connects with the body, how narrative is carried through gesture and image, and how creative expression can open space for transformation.
My practice is shaped by an ongoing engagement with themes of embodiment, gender, visibility and narrative agency. I explore how cultural expectations around voice and the body influence how we experience ourselves, and how creative practice can offer ways to challenge and re-author those narratives.
I also work in participatory and community contexts, developing creative workshops that bring together singing, songwriting and interdisciplinary arts practices. These spaces support individuals in exploring their own voice and creative identity, often in relation to lived experience, wellbeing and self-expression.
I am currently developing a practice-based research project exploring songwriting and embodied creative practice as methods of narrative reconstruction and identity formation.
This site brings together my work in music, performance and visual art, alongside documentation of ongoing projects and collaborations.

Testimonials
“I had the pleasure of having four singing lessons with Juliette B. Salter. I can happily and confidently say that I have had many laughs and giggles, but also feel more confident with understanding and applying the skills and practice warm-ups provided by Juliette. They have helped me as a songwriter to feel relaxed and grounded before and during singing. I have also become more accustomed to the process and feeling of warming up the vocal cords, throat, jaw and diaphragm and know at what point I am ready to sing with ease and clarity. Juliette has also taught me exercises to help me relax when singing, this ensures I am singing safely and do not have to worry about damaging my throat. I am very grateful for the time she has spent with me and look forward to learning with her again in the future”.

Juliette was absolutely wonderful to work with. She is a natural teacher and brings to every class a brilliant charisma and joy. She is clearly enlightened in the art of singing, providing in depth detail on any vocal exercises we went through and explaining how and why they help to vocalise better. Her music choice was also adeptly picked with songs that tested and built on breathing ability and lung capacity as well as a fun mix of recognisable songs that were enjoyable to sing. She was able to answer any questions with ease and gave us different vocal exercises to try out that suited our needs. Her skill on the guitar also added an extra level of magic to our singing and helped get me back in time and pitch when I was off. I looked forward to our singing lessons with her, and look forward to singing with her again.

I would like to give you my feedback on how great Juliette has been as a teacher in both her classes Aromatherapy and Arts health, wellbeing. I’d be grateful if you could pass this email onto Juliette and her team leader. I have been housebound living alone having recently had a major operation and being able to look forward to & participating in Juliettes classes has really helped me with my recovery. I’m quite gutted that they’ve finished for the summer in fact. Juliette has such positive energy, empathy and skills as a teacher that she’s a joy to study with. Just a perfect teacher for running online classes in this field. Could you please keep me notified once they start up again so I can re-enroll. Kind regards,
Samantha K
